Default Can you Custom Order Odd Drums from the Big Names

I'm talking Pearl or Ludwig.

Can you order say like a 13" x 6" rack tom or a 24" x 12" kick drum from Ludwig or Pearl, do they make non-standard sizes like that for customers?

I've never ever custom ordered a drum set, so I have no idea

I think Bermuda would know for sure, but I think Ludwig would do custom sizes, but it would cost you extra.

I would imaging you can only get custom sizes in their custom lines. So there is no chance you could get a Ludwig Epic 24x12 bass drum. It would have to be a Legacy or Custom Classic bass drum, which would cost more than 3 Ludwig epic kits.

Pearl has their Masterworks program which you can get just about anything made using any of their hardware, woods, finishes, etc. Again, it would be a Masterworks piece and that one drum would cost probably 4 times the cost of an Export kit. But they will make it for you.

If memory serves, Bermuda has said that Ludwig don't make custom sized drums, even for endorsers (with only a few exceptions).

Again, if memory serves.

In Perth Australia its very difficult to buy a one off Tom brand new and where they are available they cost a fortune....say $250 for a $900 kit.

I have found it easier to buy a second hand 1/2 kit...for example I had a Stage Custom in 20 kick , 8 ,10 and 13 toms and later a 10, 12, 16 toms and 22 kick
All up with stands etc was the same as buying a full kit and much more viable than a single tom.

On Ebay I have seen a lot of single toms advertised, usually based in the USA. !3 inch toms are easy to find, not sure about a 24' kick though.

good luck !!

Pearl will make you a drum to your chosen spec. I was looking for an extra tom for a 20-year old Masters kit a while back and contacted Pearl about it via their website.
They asked me to give them the spec I wanted.
The spec sheet I had to use was Actually the order form for their 'Masterworks' custom range where you can choose wood plies, dimensions, colour, hoops, hardware etc. However they clearly understood what I wanted and even quoted the old catalog name from 20 years ago!

You do have to order it through your dealers though, and that would be when you find out what the price would be.
