It is your band, who do you pick for lead singer?

Ok, it is up to you.
You are THE drummer and can have any lead singer alive today to front your band. Who do you pick: Only 5

Bruce Dickenson - Maiden
Geoff Tate - QR when he was young, first 5 albums
Axle Rose - GnR
Robert Plant - LZ
Meatloaf - Independent

Honorable mention goes to Don Henley

ah.... fun... I'll play ... I have a few minutes before my coffee high crashes and real life begins

Billie Holiday - because she would kick anyone in the bands ass

Otis Redding - because he was the baddest man on planet earth

Donald Fagan - for his wit, charm, and odd lyrical content that I love dearly

Jeff Buckley - because of his gift

Shannon Hoon - because I love him

oops... only one of mine is alive... guess I'm disqualified ... oh well

hmm... I see a trend of demonized souls in my choices .... guess that says something about me ...( looks for psychiatrist phone number)

My final five would be

Beth Hart

Paul Rogers

Stevie Nicks

Ann Wilson

Janis Joplin

Honorable mention to John Lennon.

Steve B

Jonathan Foulkes, the existing singer in our band. He's great.

Hmmm...well maybe Charlie Harper

Or perhaps Jon Anderson

Or Geddy Lee

mmmm

All my choices are assuming these singers are in their prime... not necessarily today's version:
1. Ozzy
2. Vince Neil
3. Bruce Dickenson
4. James Hetfield
5. Rob Halford

HM goes to Lemmy

If Axl was my lead singer, he'd have one of my drumstick shoved in one ear and out the other from the crap he has pulled on his fellow Gunners through the years.

Off the top of my head (and it depends on what kind of music my band is playing):

Jack White
Dave Grohl
Christina Aguilera
Adele
Diana Krall

Vince Neil had a prime era?? Dude could never sing.

this coming from a dude who put Paul Stanley in his list

Vince sounded fine on some old Motley shit ... just as Paul sounded fine on some Kiss stuff

I dig some Bob Dylan and Neil young.... neither of them can sing a lick

one of my favorite singers is Shannon Hoon.... he is not great in the classical sense by any stretch but had a certain rasp I found appealing... especially on Soup

how about James Brown.....

it's all what you put in

Yes, he sounded fine.

Paul Stanley was also selected to sing in Phantom Of The Opera, he's just a better vocalist.

I don't what to kill all the fun here,
but it depends on what kind of music my band is playing.

OK, OK, I'll pick Mickey Thomas.

.

Since I'll be the drummer I'm thinking it would be nice to have the best seat in the house behind Susan Tedeschi, Sue Foley, or Ana Popovic.

I'd add him (mid-80's era) just for the chicks he'd bring back to the tour bus, lol. The lead singer's job isn't just singing, he also needs to be a good front man, which I think Vince did pretty good.
