Hey everyone,

We just wanted to let all of you drummers know we have a new digital, interactive, 100% FREE, 2400+ pages drumbook/encyclopedia out called Level 1. You can download it for free here:

www.skillzdrumbooks.com

This may seem like shameless self promotion, which it of course is, but we hope that the fact it's genuinely free and educational will mean it's appreciated on the Drummerworld forum nonetheless. After all, who doesn't like free education?

Level 1 is gonna be updated annually so if you have any suggestion how to make it better we'd love to hear them.

We'll be sure to check in here from time to time so let's get a nice conversation going. Since it's been quite busy we can't make any promises as to the frequency of visits, but we do our best :)

We hope you all have a great day and enjoy Level 1, and don't forget to spread the word so we can make Level 1 better and better!

Best regards,

Bob Schillemans

Hey everyone,

Thank you for the downloads so far, keep it up! And don't think for a second that it's just for beginners because the title is Level 1. Why do you think Dave Weckl always talks about Back to Basics? Well here are 2400+ pages of back to basics for ya!

We'd like to apologize for the number of download links which have ended up in the spam folder. We're trying to solve the problem a.s.a.p. and are looking into it with our hosting service.

In the meantime, keep spreading the word, and let's hear your opinions and suggestions so we can make Level 1 better and better!

Have a good one!

Hey all,

Here's a FB post from yesterday:

Level-1-excerpt-Page-95-G2.11.2.png

Level 1 excerpt page 95: Offfbeat QNT (Quarter note triplets) - Play this with any melody from G2, or combine this with Sight Reading from S13, play it along to any M2 or M7 MIDI track.
If you like it download the whole 2400+ pages for free, and be sure to share the good news!!

And let's hear some opinions folks, so we can get a decent conversation going about Level 1.

Hey all,

We've had a lot of requests for videos over the past few weeks. The one asked mostly about was one on navigation, so here it is. The basic navigation in Level 1 explained in a 15 minutes long screencast.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKZfCMAA-PU

This is the first one in a series of screencasts. There will be one about every part individually. If there's anything you need other than this, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Just remember that if you think it's a problem there are probably thousands of drummers who also think it's a problem. So besides yourself you'd be doing us and them a favor as well.

We hope this helps.

Grtz,
Bob

Hey drummers!

We're happy to announce we went to SSL/https//: so now everyone can download safely without having to worry about safety issues.

https://www.skillzdrumbooks.com/

Also, we found a way to revert back to a standard .zip file so the download has become easier as well.

We've put the instructions on the download page just in case. And if anything goes wrong the address where to get support directly form us is on the download page as well.

We hope you'll enjoy Level 1 and we'd love to read your comments and suggestions.

Have a good one!
Bob
