Cutting Drum Mutes Down To Size

I am thinking about purchasing a set of drum mutes, i finally found one that fits all my drum and cymbal sizes (and my budget), except for the kick drum, it comes with a 22'' but i use a 20''. So iwas thinking maybe i can just cut two inches of the diameter to make it fit on.
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this, like would it mess up the rubber or anything like that.

Any input would be great, Thanks.

Rubber is easily cut.Take off a head and use it as a template, draw around it, take a box cutter and cut to size.

Doesn't get any easier than that.

Thanks a lot man, I was probably going to do that anyways but i just wanted someone to give me a green light ya know. Also i kinda wanted to see if anyone had had a bad experience with that and would give me a red light, but it doesnt seem like thats going to happen, so thanks for the input
