laptop question

Probably recording stuff, an external sound interface recording to pro tools, or what have you.

Occasionally I'll go on youtube music video play along binges. Those are fun because the "recommended" videos on youtube can take you far and away from the first video you start with.

yeah i know its fun to start with one video and 3 hours later you on a different subject.

Playalong, recording, looping, editing, filming, browsing the Internet, (trying to read) notation, metronome...

I keep my Mac booted up next to my kit so that I can browse eBay for gear in between tunes.
I also like to check out Drummerworld.
Oh yea, Then there's You Tube!!!

I watch porn on mine while drumming.

Somebody had to! I actually don't, I don't use a laptop while playing.

I knew that Larry would spill the beans!
I didn't want to be the one that said it.

I like to sit on Facebook and troll while I drum. It's great to combine hobbies and carry out an assault on my friends and my neighbors early retirement at the same time. =)

There's a damn good reason I'm not on Facebook any more!

I played once in a bar that had porn playing on the TV's instead of sports. We only played there once. That kind of crowd wasn't into blues. But back to the OP's question. I once saw a band that was using loops and backing tracks that the drummer was starting from a laptop. A lot of the songs had guitar intros and such and when the drummer started the loop, it would be off tempo from what the singer or guitar player was doing and it would cause little hiccups whenever it would come in.
