Joe Tomino

Another hugely under-rated drummer. Played in Mike Pattons 'Peeping Tom', then went on with the other musicians in the band to form the mostly instrumental but truely incredible 'Dub Trio'. This guy not only has the chops and the obvious passion for what he does, he's also a super nice dude. Such a big fan.

100% agree, this guy is very underrated, the whole band is (Dub Trio). Tomino just finished a tour with the Fugees I believe, and he's played with a number of artists. Moreso, the band's bassist Stu Brooks has played for 2Pac, 50 Cent, Slick Rick, and the band's guitarist can be heard on works from Common and Mod Def (wikipedia).

I encourage everyone to check out this band and give them a REALLY good listen, they have loads of different flavors and some really spectacular music.

are all worth watching.

It's interesting to me that Joe doesn't use a ride cymbal, from right to left he plays a china, crash, timbale, crash, hats. maybe some Sabian guys can recognize those cymbals and post what they are, I love the sounds he gets though I don't play Sabians so I don't know them well.
