Microkit project

I am converting an old Yamaha 18" floor tom (Model No. FT 718D, Serial No. PH5004) into a kick drum for my microkit. It look a late 70s or early 80s era drum.

I built a riser that eliminates the need for spurs or legs. With the drum lying on its side, I want to use two of the leg mounts for bass mounted cymbal arms so I can eliminate the need for separate cymbal stands. So far, I cannot find any bass mounted cymbal arms that will fit the leg mounts. I think the Yamaha floor tom legs are 10.5 mm (just a guess).

Any help?

What is the diameter of the floor tom legs? Most are 3/8". (Sorry but I don't do metric). You should be able to find a 3/8" rod threaded to accommodate a cymbal. Heck, it wouldn't be too hard to fabricate one.

If you bought one at the store, you might need to bend it to your needs, which isn't too hard to do if you have a decent vise and a propane torch. You should be able to find something if you rummage around at a local music store.

Gibraltar makes just about every known L-arm known to man. Your leg mounts are gonna be 9.5mm, 10.5mm or 12.mm. When you figure out which, grab these L-arms and this cymbal holder.

Good luck. BTW I aint endorsing this retailer....it's just where I found 'em first. If your legs are 10.5mm, you need a 10.5 x 10.5 L- arm, sorry, I didn't list one.

Thanks for the info! I'm fairly certain the legs are 10.5 mm. I saw Gibraltar gear but couldn't figure out from the available information what diameters they offered.
