starter set

Hello,

Im going to start drumming and am looking for a reasonable kit. I was looking at these two kits:

http://www.thomann.de/gb/millenium_transformer_2box_mesh_bundle.htm

or

http://www.thomann.de/gb/roland_td11kv_vdrum_compact_set.htm

Which one would have the "best" sound ? Im looking for one that is as close to the "acoustic" sound as possible. I read good things about the 2box module, but im not so sure about the Millenium toms, their response etc. Does anyone have any experience with them ?

Roland seems to be OK but I dont know if the TD11 module is any good compared to the 2box module.. does anyone have any idea on this ?

Thanks!

Both modules are good enough. And not only for a starter. My vote goes to Roland because I like internal samples and factory presets more

My vote goes to the Roland, but it's a personal choice. I have played Roland and find them very good with many usable sounds.

Many folks on this forum like Roland, many like Yamaha. I don't have any experience of the 2Box kit.

My advice is to go to a shop and try them both if you possibly can. You will get an idea of the sounds plus how they feel when you play them, and the way the sound module features and menus work. You may find a winner emerges when you do that with both.

just joined this site and this is probably a really dumb question but how do i post a question? Also, with whatever electronic set you choose get one with mesh heads, not plastic/rubber. I find the physical heads to be a much more important factor than the modules.

You gotta click the button that says "New Thread". New q's are called threads.
