I searched but didn't see a thread like this. If I missed it my apologies.

This song is just the best..the tempo. I've loved it from day one.

Spiral Staircase...I love you more today

Not sure of drummer but Vinny------

Oh gosh. I could go on for days. Love love that song. Great bouncy feel. Killer hooks, like most of the pop stuff on the radio of the late 60s and early 70s. The heyday of AM radio here in the States. Off the top of my head, ..

Daydream Believer, The Monkees
Happy Together, The Turtles (ok. more animal names coming...)
Ooh Child, Five Stairsteps
Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes, Edison Lighthouse

Yes... oh man, how long is a piece of string? far, far, far to many to list, I'll still be at it next month even if I started last month :)

But I try to keep it short, so I will say any Beatles songs from 1965 to 1970, and that's only one drop of water into all the oceans on this planet :))

100 Elton John songs and
Superstition, by Stevie Wonder. A couple of really talented guys.

Where to start... this list will be very incomplete... (obviously...)

The Cure "Just Like Heaven"
Missing Persons "Walking In LA"
Missing Persons "Color In Your Life"
Missing Persons "Destination Unknown"
Madonna "La Isla Bonita"
Alicia Keys "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart"
Naked City "Speedfreaks" ;-)
Toni Braxton "Un-Break My Heart"
...
...
...

No, I do not mind a bit of cheese... (obviously...)

I don't know any of those songs. How can they be popular? :)

I know them unfortunately, I just don't know the songs. :)

Hey, you can always learn... just youtube them! Ha ha ha... ;-)

Speaking of pop... Loved the guy on American Idol last night who chose Rush's "Tom Sawyer" for his audition... Ha ha...

Jenny 867-5309.....Tommy Tutone.

That's a great song!

I can go to my local Alberson's grocery store and punch that number in with my area code and get the "preferred price". It doesn't work at Ralphs, but it does at Von's too. It works at a lot of places with certain area codes I suppose. Heck my California phone number worked at Kroger in Indiana when I was living there because Ralphs and Kroger share the same database.

Sorry, not trying to hi-jack the thread.

haha. that's an awesome idea.

Don't know if this fits in but since all the
Pop stations play it, here it goes. In digging that new band Foster the People. Their singles Don't Stop and Pumped up Kicks are quite catchy. Oh and Michael jacksons thriller album is great fun to drum too.

Not Tommy Tutone's (real name Tommy Heath) fave.
He walked into a bar I was playing in up in Alaska and asked if he could sit in with our band.
While trying to decide what song to play he said, " anything but 867-5309".
We decided on Satisfaction by the Stones. He sang it but didn't know all the words so he repeated the same verse over and over!
Back to our regularly scheduled thread.

"All Night Long" - Lionel Richie

The man is an utter genius.

Too hard ...

The Beatles ...Strawberry Fields, A Day in the Life

The Police ... Roxanne, Message in a Bottle

Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon, Tusk

Elton - Candle in the Wind, Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me

Supertramp - The Logical Song, Rudy

10CC - Art for Art's Sake, Une Nuit in Paris

Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams, Would I Lie to You

Kate Bush, Babushka, Joe Jackson, The Reels ...

In today's scene, Adele's being overplayed to death but I found Rolling in the Deep a breath of fresh air.
