Zoom R8 advise

I noticed a Zoom R8 recorder on Craig's list for 175. I currently don't have any mics, or mixer. This looks like it might be a good thing to record with. There's also a Peavey PV14 mixer in price range. Do any of you know anything about these?

I have the Zoom R16 and love it. It allows me to record 8 tracks simultaneously. The R8 only allows two track at a time recording so you can't multitrack your drums provided you had a number of mics. So, if you don't mind recording inputs at a time, it's not a bad machine.
