I'm certainly a fan of his demeanor. I love early Rush stuff, it's ingrained into my youth's mental playlist. He comes across as a really good guy, & he's humble too. That's a big plus for me.

he definitely is a gracious man

I was lucky enough to have a short and rare conversation with him recently in Boston before their soundcheck at the Garden

a kind gentle soul indeed...not to mention brilliantly intelligent

...and much taller than I thought......the guy is quite big

2112 and Moving Pictures are definitely part of the soundtrack of my youth as well

A gracious man indeed. I too had a brief conversation with him, & the rest of the band, back in October 1981. We got an "in" on the Deeside gig (Exit stage left tour) through John Knowles (UFO's tour manager). He was a close friend of Howard Ungerleider who was working with Rush at the time, & Howard was a superb host. It was great to get behind the scenes on a Rush gig in their heyday. Even back then, Neil was very calm & accommodating.

Amazing how he is still that way after losing his wife a few years ago.

...and it was more than a few years ago.....not that it makes it any less painful or easy to deal with

I find it a bit odd that was posted by Hudson music as being new, as it's a piece from a year and 1/2 ago.

Agree with what has been ssaid, but also check out the interview he gave in the current issue of the quarterly magazine issued by DW drums. The article is about his pre-tour routine, and I thought he'd ramble on obessively about gear, setups, etc., meanwhile Peart talks about his diet and going to yoga, his age and dealing with the physical part of touring all in a humble and humurous way. Have more respect for him after reading that.

Face it - Geddy and Alex are super talented but Rush is Neil Peart.

I know he is not that old, but if you think about it, it is amazing what he can do for a guy who is the big 6-0! Given that most of the US (and some other countries) is obese and a bunch of couch potatoes, he can do 10X more than people half his age. The guy is a physical specimen, partially because of his God-given physical talent, and partially because of his work ethic. And he is an extremely articulate and intelligent person to boot. He blows away the stereotypical persona the public has of drummers (Animal from Muppets).
