Equivalent to SK II

Hi All,
I have had trouble getting a Super Kick II for my 22. I ordered before christmas and still no skin. I live in Sweden and there seems to be some trouble with the distribution over here.

So, what should I look for instead? I got the recommendation from a friend but have no experience of them myself. The only thing I know is that I don't like the Remo pinstripe I am currently running. Like a plastic bucket on my drums...

So, what should I look for at Remo or Evans for something similar to SK II?

And also, if I decide to go another route, coated perhaps, what do you guys recommend?

Thanks,
Jörgen

There really is no direct equal to the SK II to my knowledge.
I like to use a Remo Powerstroke 3 when Im not using an SK I or SK II.
It doesn't sound like an SK II but it's a great bass drum head.

Yes yes yes. The Powerstroke 3 is the ultimate bass drum head.

It isn't as dead.
The PS 3 has more volume and boom.
You can always dampen it if you want to.
Then it will sound more like an SK II.
You won't be disappointed with the PS 3.

I don't think that Remo fully understood the uses for the PS 3 as a bass drum head when they first came out with it.
I remember it first being introduced as a snare batter. I use it and I love it on my snare drums.
It was also earmarked and produced as a tom head.
Drummers with 18 inch bass drums figured it out and they started using the floor tom heads as bass drum heads.
Remo countered by making the PS 3's in larger diameters for other bass drum apps.

The closest thing I can recommend would be an EMAD 2.

2 ply with a foam ring on the outside.

A coated GMAD would work nicely too
