Anyone? I thought it might have been the "blushda" thing, but it doesnt sound right when I play it in the middle??

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jftzYV0pBxM he does the lick at 7:30, and he does repeats it for another bit. I am just wondering what he does on the snare. I used to think it was two flams, but his left hand is clearly hitting 3 or even 4 beats.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DatZ_8DEjfY&feature=channel he also does it on this one, the only difference is that in this one instead of doing two flams between the tom and snare, he does on flam and two singles
I'd have to listen to it more to get it more exact than this or figure out a good way to notate it, but just to roughly approximate it, I would think of it as (1) triplets with your right hand (eighth note triplets if we're counting the pulse as a moderate (around 84bpm or whatever it is) 4/4), (2) a slight 2:3 hemiola feel added by the left hand playing/implying straight 8th notes (the 2) against the triplets (the 3 for the 2:3 hemiola), but (3) stretched out a bit to turn it into some very loose flams.

It's a very cool groove, by the way.

This is what I got. Sometimes the 32nd notes are played more like flams I think.eg. Beat 3 is a flam.. I have attached an audio file of the fill..
(Btw, I was there for that gig! he was amazing!!)
