Hi, umm... EvansSpecialist- I have the typical fusion tom sizes, 10/12/14. I get that the thicker tom heads give a little better low-end tone than thinner single-ply heads (supposedly- haven't tried them myself, yet), but I wonder if that trait would sorta... work against itself, so to speak, with smaller toms, being that the general pitch/tone of those isn't really supposed to be all that low...? I'm thinking they'd sound great on 14" & larger toms, maybe ok on 12/13, not so hot on 8/10...?
I suppose, since I'm gonna try 'em anyway, that I could get them 1 at a time, starting with my 14" FT, & if I like it, try the 12, then the 10, keeping my current G+ heads handy to put back onto each drum that I may not dig the G14 on. I already kinda don't dig the G+ on the 10", but maybe the problem is with that particular one. I realize each instance of the same item isn't *exactly* identical. I won't judge it from the one & only G+ I've had on it- just the same as I won't write off a restaurant from just one so-so dish...
