Default Help dating a zildjian?

Besides a nice restaraunt, how can I date this cymbal?
And can you help me? The images are under the your gear section labeled: Scored a vintage (I think) zildjian!. There may be some extra words in there I forgot about, but hopefully you'll be able to find it. It has some slight erosion and oxidation on the logo. It also has a few dark spots randomly spread out across the cymbal. BTW its a 24" ride, no logo telling what series

Ask it's parents first.

Or look for a serial number of some sort.

I hear that it helps to be well monied and given to not disclosing secret formulae. I don't know her Dad personally...

Oh wait. Bad joke.

Picture of the stamp would be very helpful.

It's definitely an A series. Stamp looks to be consistent with what you already think. There will be no serial number. They weren't included until recently in the scheme of Zildjian's timeline.

What else are you looking for?

Thats really it! It must be 60's or 70's...but how do I know which one? And is it normal for it to be that thick?

If you check all the little squiggles and dots etc in the Arabic writing in the pic of the 60's stamp from the website that Al provided, they all match up with what you have. I'd be confident enough to say 60's.

Yeah, larger rides can be reasonably thick. .

Yeah, larger rides can be reasonably thick. Especially the larger ones.

Email my friend Bill at Classic Vintage Drums. He is wise in the ways of everything vintage.

http://classicvintagedrums.com/

He can give you more insight into what era your cymbal was made. Also check out his site, some AMAZING vintage gear in excellent excellent condition!

Cheers!

Sorry if people think I am plugging.

The stamp and the lathing place it squarely in the 60s. Must be nice...
