Anybody out there have any experience with this Pearl snare, apparently it was created in thoughts of the 402 supra. If you know anything about this snare let me know, thanks.

I've asked about this but with no response so far. Maybe not a popular snare drum.

One of the things I want to know is how well the internal damper works.
Does it rattle if it's completely off the head for example?
Lets hope we get an answer this time.

I know......I'll give Ian a ring :))

Ya man, I know, no one seems to know about this snare, it looks dam good..
Looks good like the Supra @ about half the price so guess I gotta go hit one.
Keep me in the loop if you hear anything and I'l do the same
Cheers.

The Ian snare is steel and supra is aluminum, so they can't be exactly the same. I've never played the pearl drum, so I can't compare them. It might be a sensitone shell with the dampener and the tuning locks. It can't be a bad drum, but the supra is a safe bet. Peace!

Fellows,

Here is Ian Paice's Pearl snare drum. I hope to have a chance to play it, though.
In addition, Pro-mark drum sticks.

Cheers,

That is a fine looking snare, right heads, tuning etc. and your in business, steel eh?and look at the tuning lugs, they look to be built very sturdy. If this on ebay in your price range (including exchange, tax) then I would have to say it is a very good purchase.

I like this one!
