What a joy to see and listen too. It's amazing how the instrument sounds recorded here from 45 years ago using 1 drum mic and 1 bass mic and 1 sax mic sound so much better than a number of drums put up on youtube with numerous mics. Wow... how punchy that kick is without a dedicated mic!

There is a good lesson there. latlly when I have been just getting a work out on the tubs (as opposed to actual rehearsal) I have stayed off of the bass pedal and worked the toms and snare only the bass drum only for accents. It has a wonderful effect and I have found that it improves your thought process as to where you want to go on the kit, it also sounds more muscal.
