Default Is this more money than sense?

Just came across this guy. Never heard of him but he self confesses to be a semi-famous, endorsed mapex artist.... yet he has loads of other kits. Id die for the leedy though...
http://www.sticks4drums.com/apps/for...ks4drums-kits-

Has his own site and forums... never heard of him before though, so is that more money than sense for an unknown drummer?

ahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha ahahahahahahaha hahahahaha aahahahahahahaha ahahahaha.

If you are dead serious about not knowing S4D, you are in for a treat!

If you already know about him, this attempt for lulz was too obvious.

I only know him by reputation, but bloody hell, there's enough hardware there to pay off the entire UK deficit and then some :O

More money than sense?

Now, I could try to be diplomatic here.

The answer is yes.

I had no idea this kit thing went so deep. It seems like each kit has its own hardware, pedals and thrones as well.

Seems like he enjoys collecting and displaying the things more than playing them

Yeah, $20k for the Arctic Monster maybe.
More than double that for everything else.
I would guess all those kits, cymbals, hardware and electronics - all in
....a solid $100k.

That's disturbing.

Agreed.

Too much Mapex, but even with that, I like the Retrosonic kit. I like what he did with the 57's too, and that Leedy is mighty fine.

I guess when you get booted off too many forums, you can just make your own.

I feel a little conspicuous owning more than two snare drums and more than 15 cymbals. I guess not everyone has that issue.

Just addressing the OP - more money than sense? Definitely "yes". He obviously has plenty of money and his 6+ banned profiles suggest he hasn't got much sense. Still, the same criticism could easily be levelled at me with my high level kit, lack of interest in gigging and 13k posts on the forum ...

Reminds me of a photo I saw on the web of a guy in the UK (I believe) standing in front
of a mansion with hundreds of Marshall Amps stacked in the area in front. The butlers
probably had to lug all the amps out for the photo!

y, I thought about that while looking at the ludicrously large white kit. I can't imagine ever having the time or inclination to haul all that out and set it up ... seemingly for a photo shoot? Man, I desperately try to get some time to practice given all the interruptions (i.e. life).

wowza.

Some people have garages full of classic cars. Some people have houses full of antiques. Some people collect rare coins, or art work, or whatever.

And some people collect drum kits.

If I had the money, I'm sure I'd have a drum set collection too.

You guys are gonna be so SORRY you ousted him from this forum! His greatness will shine regardless of who rejects him!

Personally, I feel like I'm looking at the guy who shows up at the playground with the right ball so everyone can play ;)

More accurately, the guy that shows up with a massive baggage of balls and then proceeds to choose one might be appropriate but will probably choose one that he wants to play with.

Last I heard, Bermuda has something like 160 pairs of hihats... And I have no idea how many drums, but I'm sure it's quite a few. So really, Sticks is pretty small time, by comparison. And to be fair, he does seem to love all of his different drums.

One does not become a collector of anything out of a sense of being practical, be that coins, books, or instruments.

Wow, I never realised Sticksy was that old! He talked like a 15 year old!

He must be loaded, has some lovely kits mind.

No disrespect because no matter what style you play you can play and buy whatever the hell you want but, didn't he just play in a punk band?

He could have gotten away with a battered 4-piece with duct tape on it!

This is my envious side coming out. Deep down, I want to kill him for it...

As far as I'm aware, he doesn't even play with those guys any more because 'their talent level isn't high enough'.

Ok. He's welcome to believe that...

Guys like that keep the manufacturers in business. And provide a supply of mostly lightly used goods.

At least his tenure at Drum Chat seems to be going well. So far zero bans and he's only started 3 threads (and we thought it wouldn't last)!

I'd have had money on it. Mind you, I'd still be tempted for a ladies flutter........his ability to play nicely with the other kids is not one that instills me with confidence.

As for his kits? More power to him. If only I had the cash to spunk on whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted it. Half his luck.

From what I remember.

He is an electrician, and drives a tractor during farming. His wife is the one with the $$$.

I am not totally convinced he had possession of all the kits at the same time.

Perhaps a little jealous yes :)

I have a few kits of my own though, I'm ok. Really.
Oh and I have the requisite Mapex drum - a Black Panther snare 13x6...it's a lovely drum.

first things first
let's all understand this

a PERSON is SPONSORED

a PRODUCT is ENDORSED

that being said we all know, except for the op apparently, that s4d does indeed endorse mapex products.

semi famous? well on these forums at least.
