Default Mackie SRM350v2 Monitors

Anyone using the Mackie SRM350v2 powered monitors?I looking for a play-back application in my drum room. I can find these at a very inflated price in Abu Dhabi.

I welcome your reviews and suggestions. And thanks in advance.

The new ones kinda suck compared to the older style IMO. You can tell by the color of the enclosure. The older, better ones were more grayish, and the newer ones are more bluish black. The newer ones are not nearly as loud and punchy. I'd pass, especially if the price is inflated. I don't really have anything to recommend in its place, I can't really speak intelligently about the JBL's but I would be looking at them. I have a newer one (mackie) and I could never get it loud enough, even though it was right next to me, blowing in my ear. Then the tweeter blew. I didn't feel that the tweeter should have blown like that, it wasn't abused. They are easy to replace, but I haven't done it so far. I do like the powered speaker concept, but the new Mackies...they cheapened them in version 2. They are noticeably lighter than their former bretheren. Unless the design changed in the last 3 years, I got mine 3 years ago, I would pass. Mine is a V2, so is yours, so I'd say they haven't changed them. A used V1 is a better bet, but again, it's risky. They rock as do the SRM 450's V1.
