Looking to hear from some working players who either live in Kansas City or have lived there for a while in the recent past.
I know someone who is planning on moving from Los Angeles to KC because of the lower cost of living and what he believes is a much healthier jazz scene. I've heard the phrase "40-50 jazz clubs" being said by him. Honestly I just thought that there wasn't a town in the US that could sustain that many clubs.
There's also the question of do they pay and can you make a living as a player there?
Please chime in if you would.
BTW: This musician is a guitarist but I'm interested in how it would be for any rhythm section player
TIA
Jim
