Billy Drummond

Re: Billy Drummond ....

Good stuff. I really enjoyed the second clip. Looks like his band was also enjoying the second clip....

Funny how many great, unknown, working drummers are out there. In every genre. As a metal guy, I am a HUGE fan of John Longstreth (Origin). He is both a technical monster and speed demon. But mention his name and people are like "John who?"

There's a thread on John Longstreth in the Drummers section:

Smokin' player; thanks for sharing that. I had heard his name and his playing before, but for some reason hadn't paid a lot of attention. So I found this interview with him. I like his advice, starting around 2:42:

I studied with Billy for a week at a camp I attended. He's a really great guy and a fantastic player - he has such a fresh sound and can really swing.

Smoking!

Did I see in that second clip Clark Terry sitting on that chair? Hard for me to tell.
