Here's the Pearl Export set I got. Cleaned up the hardware and replaced all the heads. Can anyone tell what year and model (EX, EXX, etc.) they are?

While I do not have an answer to your queries, I have found the router they used to cut those edges....

Those edges could be used as a bit to bore a tunnel.

Right on! Looks like a great kit!

Those date from the late 80s up to about 1992. I had the 92-95 era kit in black, which was very similar.

Shells are a mix of mystery woods, and the outer ply is luan, so there's no hope of getting the wrap off cleanly or it looking nice without wrap.

They are very solid and well built drums. Yeah, the bearing edges aren't baby-bottom smooth, but they're good sounding drums nonetheless.

I play a set of earlier-80s Exports than that quite regularly and I like them a lot. We have an 80s set at work and I own a set of 80s Exports too. The first kit I ever played was a long-lugged Export.

Yep. Still like them. There's no 'model'. They're just an Export. Late 80s to early-mid 90s.

That was the first 'upgrade' kit I bought, once I moved from a DSO (Drum Shaped Object) kit.

It was a good kit; enjoy yours.

That's funny shit! I honestly wouldn't know a good bearing edge if I saw one.. I build jet engines. Completely different bearings.. No wood there. lol. All I did was sand so there were no small chips or splinters and it felt nice and smooth. The pic is a real close up and maybe looks worse than it is..?? Maybe not.

Thanks for the ID info.

And I think they removed the T-rod and metal hoop from the bass drum around 95/96.
That would leave you with a first half 90's kit.

I had a mid-late 80's Export pre-Long Lug so this seems right in that early 90s-mid 90s range......

They served their purpose admirably for me for several years through college as well when they were gigged hard in clubs and college parties.....always sounded decent considering.
