I planned to make PASIC as every year.

Unfortunately my heart made some troubles - what a surprise. Had to implement some stents and so traveling is no option at the moment. Doctors say, everything is like new...looks all good.

Probably there are problems also to pass the electronic metallic detectors at the airport.

Enjoy the show my friends, give greetings to everybody - and see you next year....

Bernhard

Hey Pat, I met you in the bar last year in Columbus. I'll be there this year again, and I'll look for you at one of those events.

Bernhard: Take care of that heart! Glad to hear everything will be okay.

Regards,

Alex

PASIC was cool..However, I felt attendance was a little light this year. At the Guitar Center booth signing with me, Tommy Igoe, Johnny Rabb, and Derrick Roddy, hardly anyone showed up, and the hall was dead...very strange.

Anyway, here's a shot from the Ludwig booth. ZIldjian had some new A Customs, and Dry Complex Rides. Not much new from anyone else really..

I only saw Terrance Higgins clinic. Very cool, New Orleans history, on point!

Side note..Ray Luzier clinic/performance was in the largest Hall, 5 PM Saturday Prime Time, and only 300 or so showed up. Usually, 1500 plus attend those slots. Thats why I think attendance was a little weak.

So, looking forward to next year, as usual!

Just to add to what Pat said, there were so many awesome drumset players at PASIC it was unbelievable. This video will give you a taste. A few notable people that weren't shown:

Erik Smith--An absolute hard-hitting groove monster from Oslo. He plays swing and rock equally well. He is my new favorite "unknown" drummer. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndID=121875154

Brooks Wackerman--What wasn't shown is that all three Wackermans (Chad, John and Brooks) were on stage at the same time and played together--apparently the first time that has ever happened. Brooks is an unbelievably fluid, natural and musical player whose incredible technique is a joy to watch.

Ray Luzier--I know Pat already mentioned him but if you don't have the Army of Anyone album go and get it. One of the best rock albums in years IMHO.

Albe Bonacci Another groover with beautiful technique. I've been a fan of his for awhile because of his "Put Some Sauce on It" article in MD. Check it out for free at www.regaltip.com/rti-archive/albe_bonacci.pdf

So PASIC was great and you should check it out next year. Start saving your money now for the trip to Indianapolis. It would be great if we could organize some type of Drummerworld hang there. Bernhard?

Regards,

Alex

P.S. I saw Pat P. there again. In case you didn't know, in addition to being a great drummer he is a great person. Just a cool dude who always has time to talk to other drummers.

Yes, it is, and it sounded big, fat and classic, just like a big 'ol 60's kit..but newer!

Glad you like ;)
