Default What Kind Of Sonor?

http://asheville.craigslist.org/msg/5820529822.html

I'm thinking about picking this up, but I can't quite ID it. The guy tells me its a 2005, but looking at the sonor museum website, the finish is consistent with a 2003. It doesn't look like the badges are on this kit anymore, and I know that would def clear up the debate. So, does anyone have any other ways of telling if this is a 2003 or 2005?

That is a Force 2003.

Compare the hardware with this 2003 model. 100% identical.

The 2005 has different bassdrum claws.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I didn't know to look for that.

That's a good deal. I'd offer $250 since he said he's "asking $300". I have a 3005 set. It sits at my fathers house collecting dust. I don't know why I've never loved it but it has always been my step child. My one pro with it is that the bass drum mount is solid. At that price point you usually see cheaper mounts. My one con is that I hate the bass drum sprus on it. For that price I don't see how you can go wrong though.

I think I'm gonna hold off. If it were the all birch 2005, I'd probably do it. But the 2003s are basswood with an outer ply of birch.

I had a basswood Sonor Bop Kit. It sounded great out front, but it sounded bad sitting behind it.

I steer clear of basswood 100% of the time.
