Seal is an incredible musician. The stuff that gets played on the radio isn't that cool most of the time, but he has some really nice grooves.

I used my 50 dollar Best Buy giftcard to buy a 50 dollar iTunes giftcard today.

Nile Ithyphilliac

I'm gonna buy something else tomorrow too

Hey man what do you think of it? I was going to buy it at FYE but they ended up not having it. Kollias is a beast, but hows the whole album? I have heard stuff like "As He Creates So He Destroys" and "Eat The Dead" which I really like.

I share your taste, Black Sabbath (Bill Ward, Vinny Appice on drums), Death (Chuck Schuldiner, powerful singer).

Of course! Black Sabbath are one of my favorites and I saw the Dio box set for 26 dollars and snagged it. Appice is great as well as Ward, and all the albums in the set rule! As for Death and Chuck, I remember how I felt when I found out that he died... Death is amazing and everyone should experience an album... "Crystal Mountain" changed my life.

For Christmas from various people:

John Coltrane-Giant Steps

Maynard Ferguson-Storm

Maceo Parker-Life On Planet Groove (Kenwood Dennard kills on this one.)

Dan Haerle-Standard Procedure

Michael Brecker-Pilgramige

Mahavishnu Orchestra-Inner Mounting Flame

Well...

It was "The Best of Rik Emmett", The Millennium Collection. 20th Century Masters.
Got it at his show @ "The Rams Head Tavern", in Annapolis, Md. last month, November 23rd. He signed it after the show, too. Great to meet him.
He did some Triumph songs, ie..."Lay it on the Line", "Hold On", "Suitcase Blues", "Ordinary Man", and "Magic Power". Just a great show, AND CD!

;-)

I just picked up Pilgrimage. It's a fine album. I also picked up a bunch of newly reissued CD's on ECM including:

Pat Metheny Watercolors: a fine album that I never owned before but back in the day, it was always talked about highly.

Colin Walcott Cloud Dance: another fine album

Miles Davis Round Midnight with the bonus tracks. for $5

They were all only 5 or 6 bucks except for the Brecker
