$15 and free bar tab for 4 hours for about 6 months every thursday. Took FULL advantage of the bar tab those nights. Best gig so far has been some weekend casino gigs (one weekend paid for a cs custom kit for practice space) and some weekend treks to okaboji, bout the same payout, those were a few years back with a cover band i joined that really had their shit together, very professional. Ive been a very, very lucky guy with that, im sure.

Not sure but i think we had to pay to play. I think in the 70s we use to owe the bar money because our roadies and groupies drank too much!
April 1970,I was 15.We played a dance at St Margarets church and were payed 125 for a 5 piece band,from 7-10 PM.That was about the going rate back then.But the thing is,except for playing a benefit fund raiser.....I never played for free.To me..thats just wrong.
