Default Calling all drummers – I can use your help!

Calling all drummers - I am trying to locate all the drummers that had a record in the Guinness Book of World Records (especially the ones with Endurance Drumming records like mine). If some of these drummers are no longer with us and you know of a family member of one of the drummers that held a record – their contact information can help too. I am trying to compile a complete history of these drumming events.

The ones I know of now (and their Endurance Drumming records)

xxx hours, ???????, someone tried to break Boo’s record
738 hours, Boo McAfee (successful contact)
720 hours, Clifford Marshall Van Buren (myself)
600+ hours, ????? A Marine out in CA (that did it around the same time as me)
505 hours, Tracy Burroughs (successful contact)
xxx hours, ???????????????
241 hours, Tracy Burroughs (successful contact)
240 hours, ??????? (Tracy broke this record)
xxx hours, ???????????????
xxx hours, ???????????????

If any of you have a Guinness Book and can help me fill in the missing drummers name, and full record detail, from the Guinness Book of World Records. Please send information to worldrecord@cliffordmarshallvanburen.com with “Record” in subject field.

Also if you know one of these drummers, could you pass my information on to them so they may contact me at worldrecord@cliffordmarshallvanburen.com and ask them to contact me with “Drummer” in subject field.

Thank you so much for your help, AND KEEP DRUMMIN’

Cliff

Wait, you stayed awake and played drums for 30 days without breaks? What tempo?

Can't you look up the other record holders with the record keepers?

I and the other contestants followed the rules that Guinness set up for Endurance events.

My tempo (I believe) fell to a multiple of my heartbeat - after going through complete exhaustion - not too fast (to NOT burn out) and not to slow (to fall asleep).

I have not been able to find these older records online - if you know where I can find all of them - let me know where.

How exactly did this work? How did you eat, sleep, etc, while playing for a month straight?

To make it that long - I needed to do everything while drumming - EVERYTHING - so you have to be creative. I called Tracy Burroughs who held the record of 505 hours - asked him everything he did and I improved on that. For the Endurance Drumming record (not to be confused with Marathon drumming) you get 5 minutes per hour of event, saved up and used as you wish. I played for 3 days straight, then stopped each night for about an hour for the next 27 days.

The first 2 weeks were absolute mind bending hardship - near the end - almost routine (I had to be treated for pneumonia after I stopped)

If that is the case then that is impressive. I'd drive myself insane
You can save up the 5 minutes per every hour of event and use it when you want - so drum for 10 hours and you saved up 50 minutes. Each drummer that I talked to, that have done this event, came up with different ideas on how and when to use the minutes.

Im very sorry to say that sir, but you are full of shit L O L

and by the way, have you heard of that couple which got trapped in an elevator, had sex in there, the woman became pregnant, then gave birth to this child still in the very same elevator, where the child grew up and even graduated from college.

Cameo

The rest allowance given by Guinness was 5 minutes per hour of event, used as you wish. I stayed on the drum set for 3 days, then stopped for about an hour each night for the next 27 days. Not all time used was resting!!!!

The story of us drummers that held the records will be published in the near future. The story will have common questions asked of the drummers about how they did it. So far it seems we all did different things to prepare, endure and win.

You can follow this story and others on my blog located at my web site.
