Default Bob Gatzen's drum frame

I have been looking into getting one of Bob Gatzen's drum frames. Does anyone here have one and if so what do you think of it?

From what I can tell it allows the feet to have a floating type of feeling when using the drum frame (I haven't played on one myself but this is the way it looks). Is this correct?

I have used one in the past and I kept finding that I was leaning forward to reach cymbals etc. It wasn't my kit so it wasn't set up for me, FYI.

I'd never heard of this but this DW video made me curious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaltPemIAcI

That lead me to the drum frame website and they seem like an impressive invention: http://www.drumframe.com/index_partners.html

By the looks of them, they're strictly for the pros ... or physically strong drummers with a big car, strong work ethic and much dedication who don't have to squeeze into small spaces.

Off topic, but that's quite the best piece of music making & playing I've heard in a long time. Stunning!

But it shakes. I wouldn't like that at all. Who would?

Agree Andy - there are some amazing piano trios out there - this crew, Hiromi, the Bad Plus, The Necks ...

Seems that the main comment about it from their endorsers is comfort and consistency in setting up.

Yes, I stumble across more great stuff all the time. This interweb thingy is great!

As for comfort, the music's certainly laid back.

Seems that everything Bob Gatzen comes up with is over engineered to the point of absurd and expensive.

Really? EMAD, PureSound Custom Pro Snare Wire, internal tone control flaps for drumheads? I'd say he's got this stuff nailed.
