Default Challenging show/musical piece for drums?

When I say show/musical I mean out of a show or a musical. For school performance, need a challenging show/musical piece for drums to play. Any suggestions? Could be hard since this sort of drumming is about keeping it simple.

Maybe the Buddy Rich West Side Story Medley? Though I could be aiming a bit too high with that one.

There's a lot in Jesus Christ Superstar. And by their very nature, there's nothing wrong with jamming out.

Damned For All Time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkluUk533f4

Superstar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jl5jroSKTfA

Amongst others. Rock operas, my man.

I think Tommy has some fantastic passages http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfZQLXs72Lo

I saw JC Superstar in, um, I think 1971 or 1972. Hard to pinpoint it but I know I was young enough to go with Mum and not feel embarrassed. Great show too.

I don't think Hedwig and the Angry Inch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gV0tguuYsJ8would be suitable for a school production - move over Jayne County :) although the music was superb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzX7SP1NkAg

I second Pollyanna's suggestion of Tommy.

Movin' Out is basically a bunch of Billy Joel covers, and even though the drumming isn't terribly challenging, some of it's pretty fun/interesting.

If you like jazz drumming, a lot of musicals have some big-band swing tunes.

I played JC superstar a couple times. Challenging for younger players because of all the time signature switches. 5/4, 7/8 etc. West Side Story is a good one for drums too. Played that one once. Hair is also good. Tommy is good too.

A Chorus Line has really tough drumset part. And the auxillary is no walk in the park either...

Does anyone know where I can get a drumless backing track/midi track for a musical? Long shot.....
