Default Rhythm app software

I am not a drummer.. but a bass player and keyboard player- full time player for many moons!
Looking for an app to assist:
Reading rhythms
Reading and being able play metric modulations
Various tuplets..
3's against 4's etc
Feeling and or reading eg a tuplet from a beat OTHER THAN a downbeat!
My understanding is this aforementioned skill is possessed by advanced jazz and likely East Indian players.

I am somewhat versatile rhythm wise, with jazz at my heart.
I have always had fairly strong sense of time
And play some grooves well others decently.
So generally speaking more advanced rhythms are my interest.

How do I know my rendering of a particular groove or rhythm is accurate??... so I want to write it out and hear it "played" by, presumably, a computer app. I am not a metronome reliant guy, though I was able to successfully play with click tracks fairly uninhibitedly in studios.
I have Sibelius, but have an innate distrust of its rhythmic accuracy- it is a notation app primarily.

I have Rhythmulator... it goes part of the way there... but is limited.
I am not too concerned about cost!

Thank you

Hi and welcome to the forum!

The 'search' function will help you find a lot of info on this topic.
Can't give you specific advice as I'm not really experienced in what you're asking but as said - the search function is one of your best friends ;-)

I would be happy to... could you suggest some keywords to assist me... I generally don't make the best choices when using search option.
Thank you

I just did a search using the key words 'metronome rhythmic'.
I remember we had 1-2 pretty sophisticated metronome progs that should do the trick.

Here's a couple of threads that might be interesting:

(the 'Weird Metronome' is mentioned there)

'metronome app' reveals a ton of matches, too.

You might like my Bounce Metronome, lots of challenging rhythms to try out :). And lots of flexible options to make your own rhythms.

For instance, it's Polyrhythm Challenges

Here is one of the videos on youtube, 4:3 played with all the parts moved around to all the syncopation positions.

Sadly it is for Windows only at present (does run on Linux also under Wine) - but the videos can be useful for Mac users too.
