Default tom tuning for 10" 12" 15"

If you tune your toms to a certain notes, lets say 10"=D, 12"=A, 14"=E
Now replace the 14" tom with a 15" tom what note would you recommend the 15" tom be tuned to? Stay with the E? Or maybe drop the 15" to D? Would that interval work OK?

I know there are no real rules to tuning other than getting a good sound you like, just curious when you have 2 even sizes and one odd size tom what note sequence would sound nice? third? minor 3rd?

D or C# it really depends on the depth of the drum and the heads. I have a 16in bass, it likes the C# alot.

I think you'll have the potential for some weird resonances between the 15" and the 10", because drum heads have a weird set of harmonics in the minor second to third range.

My suggestion is to tune to a D on the 15, which of course would be the octave. Your toms would resolve. That's what I do, but I'm not sure exactly which notes I'm tuned to.

So starting with the 10 as the root, the 12 is a 4th below the root, and your 15 is an octave (or 2?) below the root.

You can try 10,12,15 in pitches- 3C,2G#, 2E or 3C, 2G, 2D. I bet that 15 in will sound great.
