Good question. Songs keep popping up on YouTube that have the drum tracks removed, but I have no idea how it's done. Maybe we'll find out.

No, you can't do it. Not completely.

You can do it if you have access the master tracks.
The games Rock Band and Guitar Hero used licensed original music for their games and they split some of the tracks in order to make their game function. You can put the game CD's in your computer and open the isolated tracks which in most cases give you drumless tracks. I believe this is where most of the drumless stuff comes from. |

You can take something out of a mix.
It would be like mixing blue and yellow paint to make green and then trying to take some of the yellow out. However, tracks with out drums are becoming prevalent: Quote:
There is a company called Jammit that sells officially licensed tracks of well know artists with the instrument of your choice left out of the mix. |
