--Drumming gets me out of the house a few times a week.
--I meet a lot of cool people I wouldn't normally meet, and they are the most interesting people I know without a doubt.
--It gives me confidence and a sense of purpose in life. I have no family or kids or property.
--It helped pull me out of a deep, dark depression in 2011 when I started coming to this website and made drumming a huge focal point in my life.
--I'm brimming with joy now having two bands, great new friends and all the drumming duties I can handle at the moment. Not only is it just a band or two, it is the right bands at the right time. I got lucky for once.
--I set goals for myself and actually meet them. That gives me drive and motivation to dig deeper looking for golden nuggets of small achievements that keep me interested in doing more and trying harder.
--It has kept me extremely poor because I have to pay a lot of money to help keep the studio every month, but that has also helped me to budget my finances better and be more disciplined in my spending habits.

That is wonderful news Bon, keep it up on both counts, it makes me happy when others are happy :)

Great! Will do. I really appreciated the article you posted too, it rings true for me and I agree about patience. It took patience to see my drumming finally start to blossom after 30 years of not giving up on it and "sticking" with it.

Pardon the pun. Haha! I'm being serious though...

Here's a new motto...

Drumming. Just stick with it.

BTW, Henri, do you have a source for that article? I shared it with a friend and she asked me if I had a source. So I told her I'd get back to her.

Drumming helps me keep my balance. I'm being serious, I rarely fall. With my work, there's a lot of opportunities to trip and fall, and I've tripped my fair share. I rarely fall though. Having limited 4 way coordination with drumming has helped my balance. It's like 4 way independent suspension. (I walk on all fours lol)

Drumming has given me so many skills, physical and mental, and now they are so much a part of me, that it's impossible to go back. So to say drumming helped me is an understatement.

I went to London because of drumming. I'm driving to Memphis in a few hours (in a snowstorm) to compete in the International Blues Challenge because of drumming. (Wish me luck!) Drumming is like a part of my anatomy, it's such a vital part of my makeup.

Not face makeup, haga!

I wish i had more time for drumming but now the school is annoying and take my free time for drumming :/

But as the saying goes: first work then the fun!!! ;)
