Default Music from summers gone by...

So here I was today, cruisin' from the far south suburbs of Indy to the far northside of Indianapolis to visit and help my not so well these days mom. Got the top and doors off my jeep and enjoying the 90 degree sunny sky. Jammin' to my 500 watt stereo I installed myself and listening to some great stuff. So on the trip up I was listening to Van Halen I, II and Women and Children First. Also threw in Ozzy Blizzard and Diary Madman. Made me think back to the late 70's and early 80's of the great summer music of kickin' poolside with friends, cruisin' the strip in our muscle cars ( had '70 Mach I). So on the way back cranked up AC/DC (Bon era) and Scorpions Animal Magnetism and Blackout.

Anyone else remember those days and what did you listen to? Of course other bands were involved as well like REO, Styx and so forth. Man I miss those days. It's what got me playing drums and guitar in the first place!

Steve

Yeah, I remember those days! Your musical tastes on your cross-country Indy journey was the sound track to my years in high school.

All those bands plus many many more is what I drummed to back in the day.... too bad all I had back then was air drums. But damn, I was good.

I was also one of the world's greatest air guitar players back then, too!!

Ah, the memories.

I'm a little older, or maybe a lot older, but all of the good music was out during the summers. I have been listening to Pandora, Summer Oldies Radio. check it out.

Good post.

Saw Dennis DeYoung last year and brought back a flood of memories. White hair but his voice is so golden - still.

The opening notes to "Lady" gave me chills. Styx was the soundtrack of many summers.
