I just moved to San Francisco, and I brought my kits along.
I'm a recording engineer that had his own studio in Atlanta, and I moved to where there is more rock n' roll. I want to get to know the scene here in The City and the Bay Area, so since I have these kits, and as long as a band or studio can let me tag along on their recordings as a drum tech or assistant engineer, they're available for use! This is your chance to use a totally professional, top-drawer kit on your record - just let me hang in the studio and lend a hand! I KNOW how to get great drum sounds, and I can give you examples of my work if you like. I am also a great mixer and I have a mix rig in my apartment, so we can talk about that if you like, too.
I can transport them within the bay area for a few bucks in gas money.
I have 12+ snare drums as well as the kits shown here.
So beyond the plug for my services, I just like showing them off. Here ya go (descriptions under the pic):
Bonham Kit!!
1969-1970 Ludwigs. Silver Sparkle. Sizes (depth x diameter): 14x26, 10x14, 16x16, 16x18. KILLER sounding Bonham kit, and beautiful, too! All the sizes are correct, and it's from the correct era. I keep the right heads on this kit, according to Jeff Ocheltree, Bonham's drum tech. In the right room, this thing sounds like Led Zeppelin IV. What more can I say? All shells are the clear-interior maple shells with reinforcement rings. There's a general consensus that these shells are the best that ludwig ever made. All toms on RIMS mounts, floor toms on floating feet. Kit restored by Paul Montineri.

1974 Ludwigs. Blue Oyster Pearl.
This is such a great rock kit if you need power and warmth! The sizes allow for a couple of different configurations. Whereas the Bonham kit needs the right room to sound its best, this kit will in any decent-sized tracking room and sound killer. I keep (shown) and unported heads around, and that makes the kick drum looser or tighter, covering almost any rock situation.
Sizes (depth x diameter): 14x24, 9x13, 10x14, 16x16, 16x18 All shells are Ludwig "granitone" paint over the same 3-ply maple shells with reinforcement rings. The 18" floor tom is from 1966, and is white-interior. All toms on RIMS mounts, floor tom on floating feet. Kit restored by Paul Montineri.
2004 Gretsch USA Custom. Satin Black.
This is the last modern maple kit you'll ever need. It has the absolute perfect balance between smack and body on the toms, and the 22x22 kick operates as its own kick tunnel! Put whatever heads you like on it - I keep clear Emperors on there with clear Ambassador resonants - and it will sound great! DOUBLE PEDAL GUYS: this is your drum! I've recorded every type of modern, straight-shelled kit out there, and this was the easiest to mix by a long shot.
These toms can be heard Chris Duarte's "Vantage Point" being played by Jeff Reilly at Prairie Sun recording. Sizes: 22x22 (not a typo!), 8x10, 9x12, 12x14, 14x16.
I just acquired a 14x22 drum for people who don't need the focus of the 22x22. Jazzers can use the 14x22, 10, 14 kit and make it SING!
All toms on RIMS mounts, including floor toms. I changed the Gretsch floor tom mounts to the more secure Pearl mounts.
