Making electronic pads into triggers?

So i have a couple of roland pd-6 and some cy-8 cymbal pads. i was wondering if it was possible to disassemble some of the pads and make them into triggers for for my kit. any info and/or help would be greatly apreciated before i start tearing apart my pads.

Never having "deconstructed" either of the pads you mention, I'd say chances are you could make this idea fly ... but will it work 100% of the time?
Safer approach might be sell the units you have on eBay. Stock. Complete. Then invest your generated cash into triggers designed for acoustic drums.

If you're talking about making triggers for acoustic drums, it'd be much simpler to get something made for that.
Plus, you won't be destroying something useful to yourself or someone else.

If you can solder, or know someone who can, it's pretty simple to make your own triggers.
Just do a general search for 'drum triggers', and you'll get tons of ideas.

You'll also need a module and cables, and other assorted bits.

yeah i have that stuff. i was just looking for a fun project to do and was wondering if anyone else had done it before, or has more experience with electronic drums, and if they could give a step by step proscess on what to do.
