I myself have always naturally favored bouncing it. I would however like to be able to use both at will, but I've been finding it difficult to get it to cleanly rest against the head. Tomorrow I'm going to significantly loosen the batter head and see if that facilitates that relaxed, effortless burying technique I've seen guys using. A teacher told me burying gives the listener that cool "chest impact" but at the cost of an upward pitch bend; bouncing is going to allow the notes to sing out. Any other ideas? I don't want to change my pedal tension, I've already put enough time into finding the sweet spot.
