Overlooked instructional books/DVDs/CDs

We have all discussed the famous 25 greatest drum books of all time. These books are famous for good reason and it's relatively easy to find out a great deal about them when considering their use. There are also some that are not on the list but still pretty well discussed on the forum.

So what are the gems that we miss? The ones that may be out of print, or not by a famous drummer, or not from a big publishing giant. The ones you used with great success but no one else seems interested in.

Tell us
The name of the book and author and publisher if possible
Intended audience/requisite skills needed
A description of the instruction itself
What outcomes can be expected with committed practice
and
Why you love it

Maybe a few good books can be rescued from obscurity

one of the best books ever written is Mastering the Tables Of Time by David Stanoch

it will go down with Stick Control and Syncopation as one of the bibles

doesn't seem to get the attention it deserves

For new-ish drummers, I like the book "A funky primer for the rock drummer".

Really good and progresses in a way that makes sense to most new drummers. Also great for learning how to read music as you play... Each idea or lesson starts with very simple versions.

I might be able to agree a bit more if I tried really hard, but right now I just can't bring myself to it. This book is phenomenal!

There are 2 videos of David S. discussing Tables of Time, right here on Drummerworld:

those vids are nice.... but don't really even scratch the surface of the possibilities of this book

there is some really nice information here

the great thing about this book is that it is not style specific and it covers all the vital organs of rhythmic concepts and subdivisions that can be applied to any and every style of music

Thanks for the recommendation and vids - I will be giving it a try based on that.
