Toms: Evans G2 coated batter and G1 coated reso (with Evans E-Rings)
Main Snare: Evans power center reverse dot batter and hazy 300 reso
Side Snare: Evans G1 coated batter and stock yamaha reso
Kick: Evans Emad batter and Evans EQ3 smooth white reso (with 2 Evans EQ pads)
...I have a weird thing with buying Evans products... haha
I love the sound of this combination! The E-rings make a night and day difference on the toms and really help reduce unwanted overtones. I recently switched from G1 clears to G1 coated on the reso for the toms which I think gives a warmer and rounder sound to them.
The only thing that I'm not happy with is the side snare. I need to find a good resonant head to replace the cheap factory Yamaha one but it's a little tough to find 10" snare reso heads.
The LED lights look a lot better with coated heads rather than clears, too. (not that I would choose looks over sound... haha)
Finally finished cleaning the drums and my basement... and slapped new heads on! But I don't have pictures of them. Just a shot of the new reso on the 18" kick.
For the kicks (18x14, 22x16) I got a Remo clear PS3 batter with a fiberskyn PS3 reso. I've long been using the PS3 for my kick batters, but this is the first time trying a PS3 reso as well. And I love it! The little 18" sounds huge! I haven't put the 22" together yet, so can't comment on that guy...
The toms (12x8, 14x14, 16x16) got Aquarian coated Response 2s for the batter, with Classic Clears for the resos. This is actually my first time trying coated heads. I dig! I especially like the feel of them. I've used clear response 2s before and loved 'em. I haven't messed with tuning the toms yet, but for simply slapping the heads on and playing they sound real nice!
