Default Anyone know about Peace Drums??

I called this guy to ask him questions and he does not know what model they are? I looked on peace's website but it is slow, cluttered, and not very helpful. I know they are standard sizes and he said the wood inside is white, (birch maybe?) I am trying to figure out wood type and what they sold for new. Any reviews would be great too.

Thanks

Not sure of the model, but by the look of them, they look entry-intermediate level drums.
Think Pearl Export equivalent.

I think they are demolitions, probably equal to exports. I also think they are mahogany but still not sure. Wish there was a way to tell, why would'nt they put the model on a badge or something??

This would be a secondary practice possible gigging kit in the future maybe I will offer him $200.. Any thoughts?

yeah, i'd offer $200, but prepare to negotiate (no duh lol), i'd say $320 max.

Peace is not the best choice. Rather poor quality.

I actually was going to get a pearl export today but when I saw the presswood interior I could not pull the trigger. 5pc in good shape for $225 but eh. Thinking this peace may be a bit better.

I told him last week I was not interested and was still looking since I am in no hurry. Well today I see them listed for $100 and he just wants to get rid of them, I called him and just picked em up. They are entry level but well worth $100 I think. I just changed the bass drum batter and can tell I am going to have to replace the lugs or bolts if not both. but not a big deal.

will need all new batter heads I am sure cause they are all stock and just say peace and look cheap. I may leave the reso's for now. I have a bunch of old heads laying around I will see if I can put them on next week after vacation.

Will be a fun project to take apart and clean up, some of the lug bolts are rusty inside the drums so i will replace those.

I am also thinking of either painting the inside like gretsch or just applying some tung oil but not sure yet. I will post pics soon, maybe do a before and after.

Post some pics, I could tell you exactly what they are.
I played Peace for many years, I still own a few snares and one kit they made for me.
Peace is one of the better, lesser known brands out there.

The higher-end gear they make is just as good, if not better, than most major brands.
The entry-level kits are the same as any other import type kit, because they are the ones making kits for everyone else... I have come across a LOT of drums that may have one brands name on, but it turned out to be made by Peace, even major brand gear....

Pretty good shape for just $100. If you can get them to sound OK, you got a nice deal.

Thanks, so far not too good with the sound but they are dead, badly beaten stock heads and the previous owner has a big piece of foam floating inside each drum.

Talk about dead sounding?? wow how the hell can anyone play them in this condition and think it even sounds remotely good.

have not really had time to sit down and tweak em and put on some old heads I have laying around yet but hope to get some time soon.

I have to replace most of the rusted lug fastener screws but not a big deal.
