Cymbals, not Symbols!

Gotta rant a bit. I've noticed several CraigList ads lately for drumsets that include "symbols". Out of curiosity, I searched for "symbol" in the CL Music section (in Houston) and found over a dozen entries that misspelled cymbal as symbol. Even found one for a drumset that included "tums". Maybe its an indication of the falling literacy in this country, but how can a drummer not know how to spell one of their main tools?

I see that all the time as well and also an add will say 12 piece set and its a five piece and they're counting all the cymbals and junk as pieces as well, Ugh!

I jist canot under stand why yall are gripin bout sellin symbols. Folks hear sell them for good mony. I think yall are just jellus cause you cant sell your symbols to.

How many ads have we seen selling Sonar drums? With a pic of a bass drum head with the logo?

The great man says it all:

I replied to one yesterday in my area for SAXAPHONE. They had music books right beside it that read SAXOPHONE. Can one really not know how to spell an instrument that they own and play?

The most hilarious ones are when they claim the drums are "Remo Weatherking"... and usually asking for way too much money.

Its not fayre to dzhudge theez peepl far they're lakk uf no-ledgz, dzusst seighin'...
Uhhz long ass the meehning comz e-kross ev'rythinggh is ohhh'ride.

Anyone want to buy a kit? I got some high quality Zildgean ZBT symbols, a Pork Pipe set with 3 Weather King toms toms and a Evans Dry snare drum. Only $3000!! I'll even throw in a set of "gently used" drumming sticks!!

My english professor wife would freak out about your use of "Gotta". ---just saying.

Strictly speaking...

If looking hard one can find flaws everywhere.
Thank goodness I wasn't looking hard... haha.

I find that ads with cymbol, peddle, and alike are the ones to hit up if your in the market for used gear, as these ads are made by ppl with limited knowledge of what they are selling.

You're dead right.

I've nailed a fair few deals on Ebay by searching for mis-spelt titles over the years

Just be careful. I distrust someone who does not know what they are selling. Are they just a beginner who gave up? Or a thief?

My limited experience suggests it's normally a house clearance...

That's a burgeoning industry right now over this side of the pond

I always search this once a day: http://www.fatfingers.com/

I have also had a few bargains because of spelling errors.
