Ludwig Standard Maple snare drum.
Aged Chestnut, Alpi engineered wood finish.
6.5x14, 2.3mm hoops, P88 strainer, P32 butt, Ludwig/Remo heads, new 5 ply all maple shell. The shell was a surprise, I thought they were using the 7 ply Classic Maple shell but this is a new shell with a Standard Maple paper label.
The sound is all Ludwig... Crisp, sensitive and a wide tuning range. Very nice.

I've got a Roc-N-Soc Lunar throne, which I love, but it's a pain to transport to gigs because the base doesn't collapse. I've had some very good experiences with the Gibraltar 96082T throne - my church and my bass player both own one - so I pulled the trigger after finding one for just over $100 on sale. Arrives tomorrow, in time for the busy summer playing schedule.

Probably my next snare will be one of those, or one of the oak hybrids. $300 or less out the door, and 8x14 in the mix... what a bargain. Pearl's Modern Utility, same thing. What a great time to be a drummer with all this quality gear coming out at lower price points.

I picked up two kits at the Chicago Vintage Drum Show and swapped an e-kit and cash for another kit. Details are below :

Kits picked up at the Chicago Vintage Drum Show are :

Slingerland 80N Buddy Rich model drum set in mahogany finish. 22/13/16/16 with matching Buddy Rich TDR snare. This has been a bucket list kit for me , so I was thrilled when the first booth I entered had this kit sitting there for sale at a killer deal.

Ludwig Legacy Classic Prototype kit originally owned by Bun E Carlos - first Legacy Classic kit with a Birdseye Maple Veneer all sells signed inside by Bun E - red to natural to red gloss lacquer finish - sizes 24/12/16 - and guess what ? It is for sale !!! PM me if interested.

I swapped my Yamaha e Kit for the following :
Whitney Nesting Penguin kit - came with the Quickstand, and all the mounting hardware, cymbal arms and heavyweight Ahead Armour bag. All the drums nest in one bag. Sizes 18/10/14 - Dark Walnut stain. This kit is also for sale if anyone is interested. PM for details and Pics.

20” A Ping Ride.
I had one for years, sold it two years ago, missed it, somI bought another one on the weekend. $50 cheaper than the one I sold, so I’m ahead.

I have 4 or 5 lighter, darker rides, but needed a heavy, pingy ride for the loudest band I’m in.

The wingnut on the very bottom of the tripod legs looks as if it would facilitate folding???

It does, and the seat can be removed and bagged separately. It's like the complete convenience opposite of the Roc-N-Soc Lunar. The tripod and base weigh a LOT though - probably about 15 pounds. It makes for a very stable seat, but it's nearly its own trip.

Yeah, sorry I read that wrong. The Roc N Soc didn't fold. My Tama chair is almost identical to the Gibraltar and it is heavy.

Just placed my order for 16” and 18” Paiste Masters Dark crashes. I owned these previously and they were sacrificed in a drum deal. This will rectify that error.

I have the Dark Masters hats. They sound incredible, especially for low volume gigs. Have you tried them? I’m thinking about getting the 16” crash.

Pyle-Pro Professional Moving Coil Dynamic Cardioid Unidirectional Microphone (PDMIC78). Try something different for a snare drum mic. Didn't want to spend the money on a Shure just yet or something else.

I picked up a Gretsch Oak Stave 14x6.5 snare drum after John Wesley brought it up in another thread. $260 new from Amazon. I was going to buy a couple more and resell them at that price but when I went back to do so, the cheap price was gone.

22" Istanbul Agop Signature Medium Ride. 2548g. I Played Carter McLean's when I was at his home studio recently and fell in love with it. I simply had to own one. Out of all the cymbals I've owned and played over the past 3 decades...this one stands out above them all! Sonically beautiful and as versatile as it gets.

Wow, that looks brand new, was it stored cryogenically in a vault or something (I see a few scratches next to the badge, but whatever)? Even the wires? I mean come on, that is like finding a classic car with 12 miles on the odometer. Beautiful!

thank you

there are a few scratches and some very light pitting ... which is expected on a COA ... but it is far less than you usually see

I've owned a few in the past that were either butchered up or Frankensteins ... but this is the one I've been waiting for , for a long time

COA with brass hoops ... delicious

I just bought a Pearl Sensitone aluminum in 14x5.
I'm very impressed with the sound and playability!
This thing is so resonant and sensitive, even when the snares are tight. It has a really nice bark!
And it's also just about the cheapest snare I own.
I just put my SQ2 snare up for sale because I like this aluminum snare that much more!

Here: www.selectahead.com

You can order just the mount alone or it can be ordered with various licensed artwork and logo bass drum heads they offer for sale.
