Funny you should ask that. I have to listen to something whenever I play, and disco gets played a lot because the time is usually dead on and doesn't change. I have lots of disco, it takes me back to childhood.

It came with the motorized hanger and a spotlight too. I just need to hang it up!

Just bought a 21" Sabian HH Vanguard Ride

Came across a drum store sale by chance and found this cymbal I've been after for a while. Saved myself £160!!

Nearly bought one last week full price for a recording session coming up.

Got the last one in stock also. Great luck

Not really a purchase, but I finally got my 13" K/Zs out the door, traded for a pair of 14" A Custom Mastersounds. I had heard mixed things about the A Custom version of these hats, and had played a couple pairs and was wary of what would result - but these hats are played in and feel great. I had the chance to play them on four different gigs this week - a moderately loud punk bar gig, a middling-low-volume outdoor gig, a low-volume lounge gig, and a high-volume church gig. They worked well in all settings and appear to have become my #1 hats. And fortunately for me, they don't match exactly, so I don't feel like I'm betraying my franken-hat urges.

Finally got my AHM snare drum at a major discount price !

2-year wait, showed up un reverb and went for the kill.

Silver sparkle. It should blend nicely with the other fellas in the barn.

Awesome.

Tried out a Trick Pro 1V.
It's stunning, but it felt much like my Yamaha, but with a better beater. I returned the Pro 1V but ordered the Trick beater.

On a side note, it bothered me that a $400 kick pedal doesn't come with a case.

Picking up two kits tomorrow.

A Slingerland 80N Buddy Rich signature kit in Mahogany finish ( real mahogany veneer)

A Ludwig Legacy Classic Prototype kit originally owned by Bun E Carlos. It is the first Legacy Classic kit with a Birdsye maple outer veneer and a one of kind red to natural to red bust gloss lacquer finish.

I bought these kits in May at the Chicago Vintage Drum Show and my friend in Detroit took them back to his place for me to pickup from there.

I bought the toms and bass drum two days ago. These are repainted Mapex Saturn Pros from three different series. They look and sound quite good. The snare is an MPX that I have had for a while. Peace and goodwill.

Great choice of snare drum, Cherry is an excellent wood especially in shallower depths. It is so articulate and clear.

Picked up my new to me Ludwig Legacy Classic kit. This is a prototype kit, first Legacy Classic kit made with a Birdseye outer veneer. It was originally owned by a well known Ludwig Endorser that is RRHOF member.

Needed a new cymbal bag; the hi-hat pocket tore out on my 30+ year-old Midwest Percussion cymbal bag. Picked up a Meinl bag at Donn Bennett's; extremely well made with lots of internal dividers and ample cushioning.

BTW - your image didn't come through for me.
I did, and right above it was an A Sweet Ride, which made for a very interesting A/B experience. The K was just slightly more mellow than the A, but both cymbals had very similar pitches and responses - and I wasn't getting as clean a crash sound as I had hoped for from either. So I'm still looking. I might go in a completely different direction.

I can see the image just fine in both my post and your quote. It's just one of these: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/acce...#productDetail

Installed it a couple days ago and it worked as advertised. one less mic stand to deal with. The Sennheiser E901mic worked out really well. It captures the attack very well but still adds some bottom end. I like it much better than the Shure 52 and AKG D112.

I'm gonna try it with a sub kick later today.

Oh yes there's a lot of pitting and a little bit of flaking. It does not hurt the sound any though LOL I don't think anybody would notice it unless they pick the drum up and look at it really good.

This is the summer of new gear! This week's scores include a Sabian Quick Stick bag in plaid (lots of pockets!) and a used Sabian 22" AAX Omni which will debut at this weekend's gig.
