Bass Drum Pedal for son

My son is 8 (almost 9) and has been taking lessons for about 8 months. I posted at the time about whether that was too young, etc., but it seems to be going well. Here's a vid I took of his recent song assignment (this was the first song his teacher gave him to work on..he worked on it about a week).

Anyways, he just broke his bass drum pedal...the metal fatigued and broke. He has now broken the high hit stand, high hat cymbals, and the bass drum pedal. I want something that won't break. Adjustability, while nice, isn't too important cause he's not really going to know what he likes/dislikes at this point. I was thinking the Pearl 900 onsale right now at MF, but I'm open to suggestions. I really don't want to have to replace this for a couple years.

Thanks for the help.

Off topic, but after looking at the video, I have to ask: how about some headphones or ear plugs for the kid? He might want to hear properly when he's 20 or so...

He's got a solid sense of rhythm though! Keep up the good work!

I would say the BigDog E001 I own 2 of them and believe me they are one of the best budget single pedals you can buy. They are very adjustable too for when it comes to him wanting to explore his options.

Believe me you won't need another pedal for years.
