I consider myself pretty well versed in vintage drum gear ....mostly Gretsch , Ludwig/WFL, Slingerland, Camco ....

but I can honestly say this is something I have never seen before

I am not totally familiar with all of Premiers lines from the 1960s so this could be stock ....but I have no idea

anyone ever seen anything like this?

Never saw anything quite like that. I know Rogers used 16" floor toms for their Astoria Cocktail kits.

I have come across vintage floor toms on ebay that had holes and pieces of hardware that could have been used for a cymbal mount. I have never seen one before your pic in first post of this thread though.
I believe that it has been done.
The new Ludwig Atlas hardware line has cymbal holders that mount to a floor tom leg. Why wouldn't someone have mounted a cymbal to a floor tom in the past?

Haven't seen that cymbal mount before at all......but even more exciting is the fact that I've never seen that pic before either. The Loon with 50's era "greaser" hair...........waaaaay cool!!

The relative innocence of a guy who'd yet to have dropped his first cherry bomb down an S-bend.....love it!!
