Default TERRY BOZZIO CLINIC

Just a reminder that Terry Bozio will be in the Tampa market thursday at Seminole Music and Sound for a clinic. He will be playing a somewhat downsized kit but it's still Bozio. There are still $10.00 tix available. If you live close to Seminole,Clearwater, Sarasota, Tampa you should try to make this clinic. See you there. The Mayor.

I went to last night's clinic in Kenosha Wisconsin. It was great! A rare chance to see a guy like that up close and personal.

Caught the clinic at Interstate w/ Bozzio, Bun E., McQuitty and Famularo on 10/23. Had a nice chat and a autograph from one of my influences Bun E. I thought his segment was the best of the night. He went through all the classic rock beats and how they influenced his play. Bozzio was great, even on the smaller kit, only a 10 piece...Catch it if you can. Shame to hear they are charging for tickets.

This music store has free clinics all of the time and this is only the second one they have charged for.

So folks about 60 people showed up for the Bozzio clinic, and I have to say it was something unique for sure. No music play along just his melodic soloing. Absolutely stunning performance, He answered a ton of questions, showed how most of his solos have an ostinato background which he builds on. If you get a chance to see him, GO. Best drumming ten dollars I have ever spent.

Why is it a shame to charge for tickets? Is Terry Bozzio worthless? Are the people who worked their butts off to put it together undeserving? $10 is a very very small price to pay to see one of the world's best at point blank range.

I would like to think that excellence still has value.

here are a few videos from the clinic . i ended up having to do it in segments because he went sooo long in between breaks . it was good to see some known faces there including gruntersdad whom makes a special camera appearance in one of the videos ! can you find him ?
this was one of the best clinics we've seen to date ! maybe because it was so different ....

He didn't sign autographs or anything at the Kenosha clinic, which was probably because of the huge turnout, about 300 people.

Good stuff Gary. Sorry to have walked in front of your video, but I was there first.
Did you stay real late to get the picture with him. John said he wasn't coming back out for autographs so I left.

you left about 15 minutes to early , john was correct in that he wasn't coming back out to sign (though jennifer did get her cymbal signed , thanks paul ) but he did come back out and mingle for about 30 minutes before he had to leave . there was maybe 15 people left in the store when jennifer got the pic .

That's good for her. I don't want royalties. I'll pay you to edit me out of it.

You are welcome Gary! Great picture of T and Jennifer! It is always good to see you and GD out there representing Drummerworld. And Gary, the leopard wood snare was beautiful. I am a great fan of what Terry does and I think he pushes the drum-kit creative envelope further and more creatively than anyone out there right now. To me, he is the Miles Davis of drumming. I also just love Terry and find him an inspiration as a person and as a musician.

Paul

Paul it was great to see you as well. I'm not sure what your role is in getting these phenomenal drummers at Seminole Music and Sound, but keep up the good work.
It is greatly appreciated. Kudos to John as well
