Default Street Drummers?

Hello. This is my first post. I would be curious to know if there are any street drummers here. Thanks.

You mean like buskers banging on buckets and trash cans?

Or lowlife thugs and hoodlums who also play the drums?

That's my guess :)

I saw a guy playing buckets the other day - first one ever. Can be enjoyable in small doses http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4No-_RSj64

Yes, that's Larry Wright. Larry is my hero.

I love playing on the street. I have a cocktail set that works really well for this.

I agree that a cocktail set is a good choice for street drumming. Right now I'm in the process of converting the toms from my full sized kit into a nesting junior sized kit.

I'm a member of Street Drum Corps, and perform regularly in their BANG! shows. We don't perform a lot on the actual "street" but we do tour theme parks, festivals, concert halls and night clubs. We have some songs that we use regular drums, or marching gear for, but most of the time it's all oil drums, trash cans and buckets. For the last 5 weeks I was on the road and my "drum kit" was a 50 gallon water bucket these use to deliver so to car washes in, an oil drum turned on it's side and mounted on a snare stand, and a broken china cymbal.
