Default Your Metal Supergroup

What would be your favourite all-star group of metal musicians put together into one band?

Drums: Mike Smith - Suffocation
Guitar: Trey Azagthoth - Morbid Angel
Guitar: Matt Sotelo - Decrepit Birth
Bass: Derek Boyer - Suffocation
Vocals: Lord Worm - Cryptopsy

More or less a 'death' metal supergroup i suppose. It's what I like. Not a fan of power metal or any of that garbage.

Im guessing you mean more of a modern metal band rather then older metal. Metal isn't my favourite form of music but that would prop be it.
Im a fan of modern metal and a bit of the old stuff too

cliff burton on bass is the only logical choice! his riffs were TOO awesome!

anyway... how about:

kerry king - guitar
dimebag - guitar
cliff burton - bass
derek roddy/dale crover - drums
james hetfield (puppets era) - vox

it feel like this lineup could WRITE really well together as well as play awesome.

Derek Shulman - vocals
Fripp - guitar
Michael Walden - drums
Dave Anderson - bass
Gene Simmons - bass
(yes, you'll need 2 bass players to keep up with Walden)

If they're playing metal then technically that makes them 'metal musicians'.....

Drums - Benny Greb
Guitar - Josh Homme and Jack White
Vocals - Snoop Dogg
Bass - Steve Harris

Would be some interesting metal.....:)

I listen to actual hardcore. And metal. But that doesn't mean I like metalcore. Anything with a 'breakdown' generally makes me gag.

Haha, I had a feeling that was coming. I don't mind them so much when they are well implemented into the song like any other riff would be. But when there is such a hard contrast between the breakdown and the other parts of the song, it just comes across as uninspired, undeveloped and lazy. Post up a few youtube links of songs you like, I've been trying to get into metalcore/whatevercore for years, it was the only thing my friends listened to for about two whole years here.

That guys just reminds me of 3 other local drummers haha.

Boneyards is actually one song I like, borrowed that album (Horizons?) from a mate and couldn't get into any other songs. Should give it another chance I guess...

Try where breakdowns actually came from, old school death metal... when it's just a change in the riff and the drums go into half time and there's still melody to it.

The end of the legendary BENEDICTINE CONVULSIONS is my favorite cited example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvoZBB79h58

As for metal supergroup... this is actually really rough. If we're going for something really extreme...

Drums - Inferno
Vocals - Julien Truchan
Guitar - Jon Levasseur
Guitar - James Murphy
Bass - Evan Brewer

there's too many styles of metal for just one supergroup lol
