Default Re: what kind of music do you transcribe?

I usually like to transcribe things that will challenge me. Any sort of progressive style of music usually contains alot of good stuff which serves as good practice for transcribing such as odd meter and alot of syncopation. If you're just starting to get into transcribing start with something that you're comfortable with, not too hard, but not too easy. Something that will challenge you in the slightest bit. And then from there just do whatever you want to learn or whatever you think you'll have fun doing.
