Default Open jam near Burbank

I'm going to Universal Studios Hollywood this weekend for vacation and I was wondering if there's an open blues jam somewhere near Burbank on Thursday night? It would be fun to get to do a jam with different players than all the usual ones around here.

There's a fun jam in Old Torrance on Thursday nights, it's about 20mi south of Universal if you don't mind fighting the freeway through downtown L.A.!

I ended up going to the Griffith observatory after a day at Universal Studios and then going back to the hotel and going to sleep. Boring old man stuff. I was thinking about going to The Baked Potato Saturday night, but between the ticket prices, and the drink minimum, my wife doesn't want to spend that much to go out and listen to music. Maybe I'll try to find somewhere nearby to go.

If you've never been, you should go at least for one night/set. It's a bit pricey, but you're sitting literally four feet from pretty good musicians. It can make for a cool experience. I've seen Jeff Porcaro, Vinnie Colaiuta, Chad Wackerman, Gary Husband, Terry Bozzio, Simon Phillips and many more in that club over the years.
