Are KickPorts Worth It?

Do kick ports really make that much of a difference? I was looking at one at l&m the other day, and was wondering if i should pick one up.

I have heard yes and no and I am interested in finding out for myself as well but have not seen one at a local store yet. I would think that at L&M you should be able to get them play a kit that is on the floor for sale and stand back and hear the difference with it or without it.

It did nothing for me but it depends on the size of the drum and the amount of muffling used. I have a blanket in my bass drum, eq4 batter head and my drum is a 22x16. From everything I read it does more for an empty drum. I left it there for wank factor, or just in case it works.

Simple: YES! I have put one on my Sonor Delite 20" / 17 and my Yamaha Maple Custom 20" / 16. I cannot think I would go back. Great product.
